Kumasi markets close for fumigation over coronavirus spread.

Major markets in the Kumasi Metropolis will be closed down today, Tuesday, July 21, 2020 as the phase two of government’s fumigation and disinfection exercise reaches the Ashanti Regional capital.

The exercise is in response to the Coronavirus outbreak across the country, which has so far killed 158 persons.

The exercise, according to the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly, will commence at 8am and end at 4pm, a statement from the Public Relations Officer of the Assembly, Henrietta Afua Konadu Aboagye said in a statement on Monday.

The exercise is expected to be replicated across other adjoining towns in the region.
