Sick NAM 1 is DEAD alive – Maurice Ampaw

The embattled Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of defunct MenzGold, Nana Appiah Mensah alias NAM 1 may not live to refund all monies owned customers due to his deteriorating health condition, according private legal practitioner, Maurice Ampaw.

He indicates that the man appears dead spiritually making him appear as though he is a ghost after several months in prison detention in Ghana and Dubai

“The guy is looking like a ghost. He is dead spiritually when I saw him yesterday”, Maurice Ampaw observed when he spoke on Kumasi FM’s morning show hosted by Nana Yaw Mensah Joel during a telephone interview monitored by MyNewsGh.com

NAM 1 on Monday  addressed the press on the state of affairs of the troubled gold dealership firm making three key demands to government including defreezing his accounts to enable him settle his indebtedness to customers.

But Maurice Ampaw who himself has his money locked up with Menzgold observed that the frail CEO appear as though he could die anytime soon and may dash the hopes of customers ever retrieving their locked up investments.

“Yesterday, I saw NAM 1 as a sick person who is reading his will to family members”, Lawyer Maurice Ampaw also customer of MenzGold said accusing state institutions of the current situation the customers find themselves.

The Securities and Exchange Commission in September 2018 ordered gold trading firm, Menzgold Ghana Limited, to suspend their operations with the public.

But addressing a Press conference in the Capital, Accra the CEO of Menzgold, Nana Appiah Mensah, popularly known as NAM 1 asked government to “…clearly give directions as to which government agent or agency has jurisdiction to regulate gold collectible or jewelry trade in Ghana just so we can apply for the necessary certifications in order to proceed with our business in a fair and sound manner.”

He added: “As we have publicly demonstrated, we’re open to fair supervision and are opposed to No supervision, misconceived supervision or supervision with malicious intent…”
