Some chiefs in the Ashanti region have taken to their heels, prior to the return of the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II from his trip abroad, MyNewsGh.com has gathered.
Sources close to the Manhyia Palace have said those chiefs have been named in connection to the murder of Nana Kwadwo Afodour, Otumfour Asamponhene, and so have bolted dreading the wrath of the revered King.
They could lose their stools, our sources have said.
The prime suspect in the assassination, Sadat Mohammed who was arrested in Burkina Faso last week, is said to have mentioned some chiefs and queen mothers as his accomplices.
Our sources say, Mohammed Sadat, alias ‘Alhaji’ was the spiritual father of some of the chiefs and queen mothers.
Wife of Sadat Mohammed ‘Alhaji’, Nana Yaa Asantewaa Bonsu, queenmother of Pakyi No.1, who took to her heels after the death of Nana Kwadwo Afodour was announced has since turned herself in to the police.
She is said to have given information about the whereabouts of her husband that led to his arrest by INTERPOL in Ouagadougou.
Nana Fodour was gruesomely murdered by unknown assailants while traveling on the Ejura – Nkoranza road in August.
