An unidentified man in his late 30s been lynched to death over the abduction of a 4-year-old girl at Beposo a farming community near the Wenchi Municipality in the Bono Region.
Nana Anfreh Damanta of Wenchi-based Royals Fm revealed to MyNewsGh.com the deceased only identified as Sumaila was alleged to have abducted a four-year-old girl with the intention of transporting him to one of the city centres.
Luck however eluded him when he was seeing holding the girl’s hand moving around in the community after a complaint had been lodged that the girl had been missing for days.
Youth of the town who accosted him tried to find out how he came by the girl but when he was unable to give any tangible reasons they subjected him to severe beatings with life-threatening objects and left him with severe body injuries.
The Wenchi Police was informed about the incident and rescued the Sumaila, rushed him to the hospital but he was later pronounced death by medical doctors at the Wenchi Government Hospital
Police in the area who confirmed the incident to MyNewsGh.com, revealed that they are on a hunt for the suspects who are believed to be known faces within the community.
When reached for his comments, the Assemblyman for Beposo revealed that members of the community are collaborating with the police to apprehend those behind the lynching.
“I am just coming from the CID office and we are assisting them with investigations. In the interim we are looking for relations of the deceased”, he told MyNewsGh.com.
