Police deploy best homicide experts to unravel murderers of the 90-year-old woman

The Ghana Police Service has sent its best homicide experts after the killers of Madam Akua Denteh, who was murdered last Thursday in the full glare of the public at Kafaba, near Salaga in the Savannah Region on accusations of being a witch.

According to a news release issued by the Public Affairs Directorate of the service, the Inspector General of Police dispatched the experts to the town yesterday to effect the arrest of the six suspects in the alleged murder of the 90-year-old.

The service has also pledged to give two thousand Cedis(GHS2000) anyone with information leading to the arrest of the suspects.

The statement added that the service abhors mob justice, assuring that the perpetrators will be fished out and dealt with according to law for their heinous crime.

IGP Despatches Homicide Experts to Hunt for “Witch” Murderes.

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Mr. James Oppong-Boanuh yesterday 25th July, 2020 dispatched homicide experts from the National Police headquarters to the Savannah region, to help search for the murderers of  Madam Akua Denteh, aged 90 years, who was beaten to death at Kafaba near Salaga in the East Gonja District for allegedly being a witch.

The suspects, believed to have fled the town include one Sanjo, who is said to have hosted Hajia Filina, a priestess who declared the deceased a witch. Others are: the priestess Hajia Filina, one Teacher Aliu, Bumaye, Ashley, and Manafo.

The IGP has announced a two thousand Ghana Cedis (GHC2,000) reward for information leading to the arrest of any of the suspects.
