A 41-year-old cobbler has shared a sad story of how his lover died in his room.

Narrating his ordeal on Y’asem Nie, a segment on Adom FM’s morning show, Dwaso Nsem programme, Wednesday, Kofi Boateng said the incident almost ruined his life.

As a young man hustling for money, he was invited to Offinso in the Ashanti region by his lover whose name he gave as Adwoa.

He said they were watching television in his home at Offinso when the lady fell asleep. Her phone rang so he decided to wake her up only to find her very stiff.

“I quickly run out to call a neighbour who helped me rush her to the hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival,” he recounted.

The shoe maker said he quickly reported the matter to the Offinso police station where he was helped to find and call a relative of the deceased.

The trial and tribulation, Mr Boateng said was yet to start. He later discovered that Adwoa, whom he knew as a Bono Ahafo lady, was a Northerner from the Konkomba tribe.

“I knew I was in for trouble when the relatives invited me for a meeting. We agreed to bury her in Offinso where she had stayed for long but the family changed their mind and asked me to convey the body to their hometown at a remote area in the Northern region,” he stated.

Mr Boateng said all hopes were lost since he did not have money to even pay the mortuary fee.

But, with the help of friends and family members, they helped him send the body to the North for burial. This ordeal, Mr Boateng said shaped his perspective about life.
