Former Central Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Bernard Allotey Jacobs, has descended on intellectuals in the country, many of whom he says have sabotaged the good ideas of successive governments.

According to Mr Jacobs, some ‘too known’ people, especially in academia, have often lurked on the sidelines when policies are introduced only to jump in to cause confusion.

The NDC man was condemning what he called ‘ugly noises’ that have characterized the introduction of the Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) programme.

To put matters to rest, the Ministry of Education has said they have not approved any such document for teachers in basic schools.

Some of the fiercest critics of the CSE are lawyers, professionals and religious bodies who have threatened to demonstrate against the government if it ever approved the document which will in future promote homosexuality.

However, Allotey Jacobs on Adom FM’s morning show, Dwaso Nsem Tuesday expressed shock at the conduct of the intellectuals who were engaged during the new curriculum.

He alleged that these intellectuals and religious leaders knew the CSE was not in the curriculum but have joined the bandwagon to promote the falsehood.

Mr Jacobs has, therefore, advised the government to ignore the intellectuals and focus on educating parents on what the sexuality education entails.
