Learners at the Kindergarten and Primary Schools shall not write end of first term examination for the 2019/20 Academic year.

Meanwhile Learners at the Junior High and Senior High Schools shall write their end of first term examination as scheduled.

This was contained in a presentation by the Executive Secretary of the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NaCCA), Dr. Prince Hamid Armah, in Accra on Tuesday,November 12,2019 during a  one-day Stakeholder engagement on the new National Pre-Tertiary Assessment Framework (NPAF) at the Accra Technical Training Centre.

Explaining further,Dr. Armah said it was due to the decision of NaCCA to develop an item bank which is reliable and tested and which shall be made available on their website when ready to be used by facilitators for assessing the learners.

He further indicated that the ITEM BANK shall be made available to the Ghana Education Service .

He said due to the inability of  the NaCCA to complete the ITEM BANK on time ,there shall be no end of term examination.

Meanwhile the NaCCA boss assured the facilitators that ‘hopefully’ ,the examinations shall be conducted next term.

ITEM BANK

An item bank is a term for a repository of test items that belong to a testing program, as well as all information pertaining to those items. In most applications of testing and assessment, the items are of multiple choice format, but any format can be used.
