Residents of Akwamu Adumasa in the Eastern Region have benefited from Free Health Screening.
Numbering about a thousand, the residents were screened of the Eye,Breast,HIV Testing,Malaria,Blood Sugar, Blood Pressure and many more.
The Free Health Screening which was the 4th in series was organised by IMAGHE Ghana in collaboration with Awo Dansoa Reading Project.
Speaking at the event, the Chief of Akwamu Adumasa, Nana Ansah Kwao IV charged Ghanaians to eat less sugar,oil and salt.
According to him, too much intake of sugar,oil and salt have serious consequences for the body, adding that leafy foods are the best panacea to healthy living.
Nana Ansah Kwao IV stressed that sickness knows not the rich nor poor and advised that exercise is the cheapest golden solution to stay healthy.
He was emphatic that a nation gets more money for developmental projects only when its citizens are healthy and called on all and sundry to adopt new healthy life style.
Ace Broadcaster and Gender Activist, Oheneyere Gifty Anti was full happiness for the collaboration from IMAGHE Ghana.
She noted that her Awo Dansoa Reading Project entering into a collaboration with IMAGHE Ghana was not by chance but by a divine intervention.
Oheneyere Gifty Anti hinted that because health was her priority, she reserved one of the rooms of the Awo Dansoa Reading Project to facilitate at least once a month health care for the aged,children and the pregnant women.
The popular Tv Presenter who is wife to Nana Ansah Kwao IV explained that although education is important, one cannot get education without quality healthcare.
According to her, she is embarking on a massive fundraising activity to renovate the structure for the healthcare of which IMAGHE Ghana has promised to assist.
The National Director for IMAGHE Ghana and Nutritionist,Dr. Felix Frimpong encouraged women and for that matter mothers, to feed their children nutritiously 3 times daily stressing that when children get the necessary nutrition it propels proper growth and good health.
He therefore advised parents to pay particular attention to their wards health and report quickly to the hospital whenever an anomaly is detected.
The IMAGHE Ghana Associates were happy to serve the people of Akwamu Adumasa and urged other health facilitators to join to help all needy communities.
Some of the residents who could not hide their happiness for the free health screening called on IMAGHE Ghana to quarterly organize such event to help them.
Some also appealed for a hospital from IMAGHE Ghana to serve the people of Akwamu Adumasa since they travel far to seek healthcare.
