Nkawkaw the Municipal Capital of Kwahu West Municipality in the Eastern region has recorded its first three confirmed cases of coronavirus.

The samples of the index cases were taken from Holy Family Hospital after the three reported symptoms similar to COVID-19.

About 200 contacts have been traced and samples were taken.

The Kwahu West Municipal Health Directorate is currently addressing the media on the new cases and outlining measures to contain it.

It is not clear if the three confirmed cases in Nkawkaw are part of the six(6) new confirmed cases of announced yesterday be the Ghana Health Service which increased the region’s figures to 106.

COVID-19 cases in Ghana have now moved to 6,269 after 173 new cases were recorded. The Ghana Health Service has announced Thursday, May 20, 2020.

Also, 125 more recoveries have been confirmed increasing the total number of recoveries to 1,898.

The death toll still stands at 31.
