STONEBWOY HAS NOT ACHIEVED A QUARTER OF HIS POTENTIAL – SAMINI

Versatile Ghanaian musician, Emmanuel Andrews Samini, known in Showbiz as Samini, has revealed that fellow dancehall and reggae artiste Stonebwoy has not achieved a quarter of his capabilities.
He was of the view that Stonebwoy, who was his protégé, has not unlocked his musical talent to the fullest. He said the ‘Kpoo k3k3’ hitmaker has not unleashed his full musical skills. In his opinion, the ‘Maneme’ singer has more under his sleeves and can attain enormous achievements if he is to work harder, despite picking awards for the Best International Act, Africa at the 2015 BET Awards and Artiste of the Year at the 2015 Ghana Music Awards

Samini, who recently launched his seventh album titled Untamed, said: “I know he has not done even a quarter of what I know he can do, he has not achieved a quarter of what I know he can do”.

Speaking about beefs in the entertainment industry, Samini pointed out that rivalry between musicians is not strange.

“It is normal when you get beefs in the music industry. When you are doing reggae and dancehall music, even in hip-hop and R&B, there are jabs. High-life, gospel have beefs, you could see that the music they are doing is not music; they are doing something different from the gospel music. You can see that the artiste is saying something different, so, people throw jabs, and you should expect them and then it is up to you to know how you respond and how constructive you approach it,” he explained.

Samini, who was recently installed as the Pibilii Naa (King of The Little Rocks) by the Wa Na, Paramount Chief of Wa in the Upper West Region, was quick to add that he does not like to throw jabs at other artistes, but “I just like to affirm my status every time I get the opportunity and I like to say it so that I can defend it”.

Samini’s ‘Untamed’ album was recently listed among the best 10 reggae albums on the World Billboard Chart.

Samini has also earned a nomination at this year’s Reggaeville Awards in the Album of the year category.
