34780319 – hands of a missing kidnapped, abused, hostage, victim woman tied up with rope in emotional stress and pain, afraid, restricted, trapped, call for help, struggle, terrified, locked in a cage cell.

The Nhyiaeso Constituency Vice Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Ashanti Region, Evangelist Richard Prah he worried over the state of insecurity within some suburbs of Kumasi in he Ashanti Region

He has declared his intention to petition the Regional Police Command over the spate of kidnappings, robberies and other violent crimes in the region

It would be recalled that the Ashanti Regional Police Command on Thursday, 25 April 2019 rescued an Indian businessman Om-Parkash Chudry who was kidnapped by some unidentified gunmen at Ahodwo Nhyiaeso in Kumasi.

Eyewitnesses report indicated that the kidnappers numbering about three after assaulting him, pushed him into a car and sped off.

The two Canadian women were also kidnapped around the Royal golf club in Kumasi and rescued by the security agencies.

The young women, were said to be part of a volunteer group working in Ghana.

Aside these recorded kidnappings which took place in the Nhyiaseso enclaves, robbers have been terrorizing residents and the region as a whole.

In view of this, Evangelist Richard Prah said he will soon petition the Regional Police Command to ensure that police posts rotting away in the bushes will be opened with policemen stationed there to protect residents.

In an interview with Pure FM’s Osei Kwadwo, he bemoaned police neglect of police posts built by the former Ashanti Regional Police Commander COP Kofi Nathan Boakye.

According to him, some police posts have been left to rot at the expense of residents who live in fear in view of recurring criminal activities within the localities.

He suggested that the security in the Nhyiaso constituency be beefed up to prevent future occurrences.

To this end, he called on the police not to take the security of residents for granted adding that majority of Ghanaian prominent people live in that vicinity and they need to be protected.

“Residents are worried over inadequate security within Nhyiaeso Constituency. The security situation is very poor despite the prominent people and businesses in the constituency. I remember during the regime of former Ashanti Regional Police Commander COP Kofi Boakye, he collaborated with us in other to strengthen security in this constituency. Contributions were made to support the police to build police posts but now these police posts have left to rot. I’m alarmed by the rampant cases of robbery and kidnap cases which have been recorded within this year. The Ashanti Regional Police Command shouldn’t take our security for granted. It’s about time we put the police on their toes as far as security matters are concerned.” he said.
