Madam Amanda Clinton, lawyer for aggrieved customers of troubled gold dealership firm, Menzgold says her clients welcomed the news that EOCO has secured court order to seize assets of Menzgold.

“We are very much welcome this decision from EOCO…” she said.

The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), has secured a court order confirming the freezing of assets of Menzgold and other related businesses belonging to NAM 1, as he is popularly called.
EOCO has therefore advised his family members, workers and associates in possession of such properties to submit them in their own interest.

The landed properties according to a report by Graphic.com.gh include Menzgold Ghana Limited, Menzgold Office Complex, Zylofon Art Complex, Brew Marketing Consult, Star Mad. Football Club, Zylofon Music and Media Company Limited, Brew Energy Company Limited and G. Tech Automobile Service.

Others include two properties located at Trassaco Valley; namely Plot No. 315 and Plot No. 337, a plot of land (No 54) near Oak Street, Trassaco Valley, an uncompleted residence and 510 acres of land.

Reacting to this in an interview on Citi eyewitness news, Amanda Clinton, however, added that seizing only the assets in Ghana will not be enough and that assets acquired globally should also be seized.
According to her, it will be ideal if there will be a “confirmation from Interpol Ghana that they have sent out notification globally and that there is a coordinative attempt for international assets to be seized. It will really be great if Interpol Ghana can confirm that notices have been sent out internationally…
