A massive street sweeping has been effected at the Kejetia market amidst the commissioning of the Kejetia roads tomorrow.

The exercise has been done to remove the over burdened filth which is intensively swallowing the Kejetia market.

The exercise took off earlier on Today (Sunday) although it was scheduled to have been done last night (Saturday).
“We have done this clean up exercise to pave way for the smooth commissioning of the Kejetia roads tomorrow” The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly’s (KMA) P.R.O Mr. Gordon Okumah Nyame has said.

However, the afformentioned “Kejetia roads would be opened tomorrow, Monday 11th February 2019” in order to accelerate the movement of motor vehicles and pedestrians (ease traffic conjection) in the Kumasi, the city’s authorities have hinted.
The KMA is determined for sanity to prevail at the Kejetia market after the roads have been unveiled. Therefore, the assembly has warned hawkers to halt all their businesses.
Meanwhile, the PRO has stated that, the KMA “this time around is set to enforce the laws on recalcitrant traders” who may vehemently violate its (KMA) rules regarding the ban on street trading in Kumasi.

Subsequently, it is expected that all traders specially hawkers must move to the ever prepared market at Racecourse to ply their trade.
