Covid-19: Piase chief donates to Aged, Vulnerable Group

The Chief of Piase in the Bosomtwe district of the Ashanti region Nana Osei Afriyie Gyamerah, has donated food items to residents of the town to help mitigate the hardship of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The food items include 500 bags of rice, 100 boxes of sardines, boxes of tin tomatoes and1000 tubers of yam.
Beneficial of the items were the aged, the poor in society, the physically challenged and residents of the Piase community.
In a short briefing at the chiefs apalace in Piase on the purpose of the donation,Nana Afriyie Gyamerah presented the items to Assemblyman for the area Hon. Daniel Fordjour and the Unit Committee to be distributed to residents of the community.
According to the him, the gesture is aimed at supporting members of the community in this trying times of the coronavirus pandemic..
On his part, Hon. Daniel Fordjour, Assemblyman for the area expressed his sincere gratitude to Nana Afriyie Gyamerah and his elders for their kind gesture.
According to him, even though the Piase community has been overwhelmed with the donation, they are not surprised because their chiefs usually support residents of the community in times of need.
Nana Afriyie Gyamerah further emphasized that the donation is mainly targeted at the aged and the very poor in society and therefore pleaded with the youth of the community not to be bitter in case most of them are not covered.
He instead urges the youth to approach the elders of the palace to secure free lands for farming because that is what can actually sustain them for longer periods, in case the situation goes beyond an unexpected period.
