Monday downpour:One drown at Asawasi.

A 32 year old Kofi Appiahgyei popularly known as Hallo , a taxi driver has reportedly drown in Pelele river at Asawasi renut after a 45 munites heavy rain in Kumasi.

Areas affected during the downpour includes  Central Market, Ahinsan , Anloga junction, Asawasi, Airport roundabout , Sepe , and some parts of Mooshie Zongo all got flooded.

According to eyewitnesses who spoke to OTEC news Derrick Ekuoba Gyasi monitored by brightwebtv.com said, drunked Kofi Appiahgyei who stays at Asawasi D-line snub them after they warn him not to use the bridge as the bridge was heavily flooded .

Narrating the details of the incident to Ekuoba , a friend of Hallo, Awudu Known porpularly as Amando said he was in the company of his colleague when the rain started, they tried crossing the Pelele river from Dechemso to Asawasi renut a river which has turned into big gutter covered by a metal slab.

The colleague, Awudu has passed to the middle of the bridge but, unfortunately, Hallo fell into the flooded water vary close to the bridge, they managed to save him but Hallo got carried by the running water.

Mother of Kofi Appiagyei ,Maa Theresah and eyewitnesses have since lodged a complain to the Asawsi police station.
