NPP Women Organizer summoned before Otumfuo

Angry traders at Kumasi racecourse have summoned the Ashanti Regional Women Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Ama Ampomah before the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II for flouting the directives of the respected King.

The angry traders are accusing Nana Ama Ampomah of inciting and encouraging traders to go back to pavements at the Bantama market and other unauthorized places within the metropolis.
It would be recalled that on November 6, 2017, the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly embarked on relocation exercise with the aim of removing traders to racecourse market and other satellite markets in the metropolis.
With the support of Asantehemaa Nana Ama Konadu and Manhyia palace, the assembly was able to achieve 90% of its aim as far as sending traders to satellite markets within metropolis was concerned.
Mama Esther who is part of authorities at racecourse market while addressing the media, said Nana Ama Ampomah has charged some traders at racecourse market to go back to Bantama Street and unauthorized places in the metropolis to do business which is in direct violation of instructions given by the Ashanti Monarch.

According to Mama Esther, the move by the Ashanti Regional Women Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Nana Ama Ampomah will definitely affect the progress and business activities in the racecourse market.
She added that the move by Nana Ama Ampomah is a sign of disrespect to the throne of Asantehemaa and Manhyia Palace.
“We struggle before brought all the traders to racecourse market to fulfill the promise we made to Asantehemaa and Manhyia Palace. Racecourse market is gradually improving and we won’t allow Nana Ama Ampomah to collapse the market because of her political interest. Nana Ama Ampomah is behaving as if she is powerful than Asantehemaa Nana Ama Konadu. Nana Ama Ampomah is against the will of Asanteman. We the leaders of racecourse are very angry about this move and we are waging a war against her” she warned.

She therefore charged Nana Ama Ampomah to bring back the traders within 3 days or incur their wrath.
