Rainstorm displaces Akuse Police; exhibits and documents destroyed

Police at Akuse in the Lower Manya Krobo district of the Eastern Region of Ghana will from Monday March 16, 2020 operate officially from homes as the structure serving as their police station has been ripped off by a rainstorm.

The incident MyNewsGh.com gathered happened on Saturday March 14, 2020 at about 2:30pm where there was a heavy downpour accompanied by heavy wind at Akuse and its environs.

As a result of the rainstorm, the roof of almost all the offices of Akuse Police Station including the arms and ammunition office and the armoury were all removed.

Other offices which used to serve as the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) were also affected.

All relevant documents and exhibits which were in the aforementioned offices got soaked and damaged. So far no injury reported.

Meanwhile the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the area and National Disaster Management (NADMO) Coordinator have been informed accordingly police sources reveal.
