Stars of the Needy Int. Donates To Orphans At Tepa

Stars of the Needy  International, a Ghanaian non-governmental organisation (NGO), has donated assorted items worth over 5,000 cedis to the King Jesus Orphanage Home and school at Tepa in the Ahafo Ano North District of the Ashanti Region to strengthen their capacity to prevent spread of Covid-19 in the Home.
Items donated were; bags of rice, gallons of cooking oil, buckets of washing powder, gallons of liquid soap, toilet rolls, tissues, bathing and washing soaps, and veronica buckets.

 

 

Speaking during the presentation, the Executive Director of the organization, Kennedy Oppong, called on benevolent organizations and individuals to emulate the gesture by contributing to the growth and development of children living in care homes.
Mr. Oppong said the gesture was inspired by a previous visit to the facility which informed him about the need to assist the facility with food and other essential products to augment their store.
He emphasized the need to provide such assistance when it was clear the Home depended on donations to survive.
He said it was important that such vulnerable children were first and foremost kept healthy and away from the Corona virus pandemic that was gradually hiking in numbers in the country.

 

 

Deputy Director for the Stars of the Future International, Asuo Asare Francis elaborated on the need for constant hand washing under running water with soap as emphasized by World Health Organization (WHO), as such, and encouraged the children to practice personal hygiene by taking their baths twice a day.
Asuo Asare stated that how well a person is fed had an impact on overall health and helped boost the immune system.

 

 

He said the children should be given a balanced diet to enable them boost their immune system, considering the current period of Covid-19 outbreak
Receiving the items on behalf of the Home, was Mr. Emmanuel Agyei caretaker of the King Jesus Orphanage home and expressed his joy for the items received on behalf of her over 200 children and staff and applauded leadership of the Stars of the Future for “divine intervention” as he said the home had received no donations, for a long time now which was taking a toll on them.
He called on the public to keep them in mind and assist them amid fear of possible starvation should the country be locked down in this troubling period.
He said children living in care homes identify role models within the society and gain inspiration from opportunities to meet and interact with them.
Mr. Agyei therefore called on Ghanaians to support care homes through regular visits to ensure that the children do not feel neglected.
