Philanthropist hands over facilities wealth $US150,000 to Boadi basic school

A philanthropist who is the Chief Executive Officer CEO of Spencam group of companies has handed over a two classroom block,an ICT laboratory and a cafeteria to Boadi M/A basic school in the Oforikrom Municipality of the Ashanti Region aimed at improving the standard of education.

According to the philanthropist, the amount of the three projects is estimated over $US150,000

Nana Owusu Bempah,a native of Boadi and also an alumnus of the school indicated that it has always been his wish to help improve the standard of teaching and learning in the Municipality.

He continued to state that it is always good to give back to the society when you are able to do, adding that it is what is expected of every good citizen.

He continued to state that he will ensure the maintenance of the facilities to enhance its duration period.

Nana Owusu Bempah further entreated teachers and pupils of the school to make good use of the facilities to their own advantage.

Mrs. Dorothy Opare Baidoo,the Municipal Education Director of the Oforikrom Municipal Education Directorate, thanked Nana Owusu Bempah for his kind gesture.

She further called for support from stakeholders and NGO’s to help fence the school’s compound to enhance smooth teaching and learning.

Not withstanding,she used the opportunity to commend the headmistress of the school for putting measures in place to improve the standard of teaching and learning of the school, highlighting on the recent performance of the pupils since the mistress joined.

On his part, Lawyer Abraham Kwame Antwi,the Municipal Chief Executive MCE for Oforikrom Municipality who was the guest speaker for the inaugural ceremony lauded Nana Owusu Bempah for his kind heart.

However,Hon. Abraham urged other stakeholders to emulate this act of giving back to the society to support various governments to develop the country, adding that government cannot do it alone.
