Mathias Kwame Ntow

A defeated Member of Parliament (MP) in the just ended primaries of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Aowin Constituency of the Western North region says he was not surprised about his loss in Saturday’s primary.

Mr Mathias Kwame Ntow said though the electorate voted against him, his satisfaction is with the development he has brought to the constituency so far.

“I’m not surprised because I did my best but people didn’t like me. With all that I have done for people, losing means people did not like me. I believe in God. Whatever he gives me, I will take it. He has even helped me,” told show host Osei Bonsu on Asempa FM’s Ekosi Sen show, Monday.

Mr Ntow was among nine sitting MPs who lost their bids to represent their various constituencies in the 2020 elections.

He lost to Oscar Larbi in the just ended parliamentary primary.

“People in my constituency think I could fix the roads for them but it is not in my mandate to do that,” he said.

Asked if he will contest again, the three term MP said “why will I waste my time again, I will never force myself. I am a simple man and not hurt by my defeat. I came into this world with nothing and will go same.”
