The former Deputy Ashanti Regional Minister, Joseph Yammin and former Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ejisu Juaben Afrifa Yamoah Ponkoh have been granted police recognizance bail by the Ashanti Regional Police Command.

The duo were invited by Regional Police command for questioning following the shooting incident at the NDC Regional Party office on Monday February 18, 2019 that led to the death of one person with another injured and said to be in a critical condition
It was reported earlier that armed police stormed the house of Afrifa Yamoah Ponkoh to conduct a search after which he was taken to regional police office to answer some questions.
Joseph Yammin was also invited by the Ashanti Regional police command for questioning in relation to the same matter after uniformed men went to his house but failed to meet him and demanded he reports himself.

After hours of interrogation, the police went to Joseph Yammin’s house to conduct a search with him and later brought him back to the police office for another round of interrogation.
Speaking to the media, Joseph Yammin pledged to collaborate with the police in their investigations to unravel the main architects of the dastardly act
According to Joseph Yammin, he was shocked after he heard that his name has been mentioned at the police office by some witnesses and some party executives.

“I wasn’t at the party office when the incident occurred. I heard the news on my way to the party office and I decided not to go there. So I don’t know why my name was mentioned” he wondered.
