Aspiring MUSIGA Presidential candidate Ras Caleb Appiah-Levi, has raised concerns over an alleged expired voters register which the association has fixed a date to use in the upcoming MUSIGA election.
The National Election Committee (NEC) of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) in consultation with the National Executive Council has set June 24 as the new date for the union’s national elections.
According to Ras Caleb the currently provided list of MUSIGA registered members in the provided voter register still contains some already expired members whose cards have been expired and many others will expire before election date (which was erroneously) announced as June 24th, 2020.
How do we correct that since each eligible voter must be duly qualified by renewed membership on card?
He also indicated that, some members have valid cards but their names are still not in the various lists though they are within the valid dates of membership validity.
“I therefore calls on the National Executive Council (NEC) to reconsider their decision for using the misstrusted register for the upcoming MUSIGA election before it is too late, he lamented.
