Charterhouse had a press conference earlier today- May 22 and brought their big sledge hammer on Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale for their roles in the physical battle they had on the night of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards on May 18.
The board and leadership of Charterhouse decided to ban the two Dancehall greats and strip them off the awards they won at the just recently held ceremony.
According to the VGMA board, the decision was taken after “careful deliberations” and “extensive consultation” with stakeholders in the music industry.

The pair were also asked to return the two awards they both won on the VGMA night. The board also announced that the Popular Song of the Year and the Artists of the Year categories have been nullified.
This decision of Charterhouse has caused so much uproar from all quarters with many people suggesting that the board members were too harsh. Others have asked their monies to be refunded if their favourite artistes have been ordered to return the plaques.
Ghanaian actress, Vicky Zugah is the latest person to talk about the issue. According to the actress, Charterhouse should refund the money she spent on voting for her artist.
The actress who blamed security personnel for the lapses that occurred that day, said the organizers should refund her money because this was the first time she is ever voting for her artist.
Zugah also wondered why security could allow Shatta Wale to move from the Gold seat, through to Platinum and walk to the stage.
She also attributed Stonebwoy’s reaction to quick instinct since he thought his life was under threat.
