Alhaji Ali Raji and Dr Nyaho-Nyaho Tamakloe (insert)

Former Chairman of the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA), Alhaji Ali Raji, has hit hard at former Ghana Football Association (GFA) chairman, Dr Nyaho-Nyaho Tamakloe for his ‘bunch of thieves’ comment.

Dr Tamakloe has cautioned ahead of the GFA elections that the bar of integrity must be raised high because there are still thieves who want to contest for positions.

This, Mr Raji believes is a wayward and “by heart” statement which no right thinking adult will make.

“When he says bunch of thieves, I am sorry. Has anyone who does football been taken to prison for corruption?

“He doesn’t really know what is happening in Ghana football; if he knows, he wouldn’t be calling football people bunch of thieves,” he said.

The GFA presidential position has been vacant following the ban on Mr Kwesi Nyantakyi from all football-related activities by FIFA.

Some 120 members of Congress, representing various clubs, welfare bodies and constituent bodies will vote to elect a new GFA President and his Executive Council members at the upcoming congress.
