BREAKING News: Mark Addo elected GFA Vice President; defeats Randy, Aubyn

Ghana Football Association Executive committee member Mark Addo has been elected GFA Vice president, MyNewsGh.com has confirmed.

Mr. Addo is the founder of Nzema Kotoko.

With 6 votes, he defeated Randy Abbey who polled 4 votes and Dr. Tony Aubynn who had just 1 vote. Sammy Anim pulled out last minute.

The voting members were supposed to be 13, but 11 voted. The GFA President and the 12-member executive council which consist of five representatives from the Premier league, three from the division one, Regional Football Association with two members and one member for women football voted.

The election was supposed to have been held last week but was rescheduled until today.

Mark Addo is the government-backed candidate, MyNewsGh.com was told.

Earlier, the Chief Executive Officer for Ghana Premier League side Techiman Eleven Wonders Takyi Arhin urged the newly elected Ghana FA Executive Council to elect Mark Addo as running mate.

According to the outspoken football administrator, the Nzema Kotoko chief has the qualities to assist Kurt Okraku despite other members  vying for the position.

It appears the ExCo members agree with him.
