Information gathered by Finder Sports indicates that the Normalisation Committee’s (NC) Special Competition for the Premier League and Division One clubs is set to kick off on Sunday, March 24 across the approved centres.

The Special competition was announced last two months with the aim of reviving football in the country by the Normalisation Committee but the competition was called off by the NC following disagreement with the Ghana Premier League clubs.

A committee was then set-up to re-instate the competition which was chaired by Perry Okudjeto, deputy Minister of Youth and Sports.

According to our source, the committee has finished its work and submitted its report to the Normalisation Committee. In addition, the appearance fee for the clubs has also been reviewed upwards from GH₵ 20,000 to GH₵ 30,000.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA), Kudjoe Fianoo in an interview on radio also stated that the competition is set to kick start by the end of March.

He added that the competition has been scheduled in a way that Ghana will be able to present a team to CAF for next season’s Africa club competition before the deadline.

The Normalisation Committee is set to announce the start of the competition this week if they are able to agree with the clubs on the modalities and the budgetary allocations of the competition.

The NC Special Competition for the Women is already underway and has entered into week four.
