Aaron Ramsey will miss the chance to make his competitive debut for new club Juventus in their opening Serie A game against Parma.
The Welshman, who left Arsenal as a free agent to join the Italian champions this summer, is absent from Juve’s 23-man squad for this weekend’s trip to the Emilia-Romagna region.
Daniele Rugani, who has been linked with a move away from the club, is also missing but new signing Matthijs de Ligt could be set to make his competitive debut following a big-money move from Ajax.
Ramsey has already donned the black and white shirt for the Italian champions in pre-season, but will have to wait a little while longer to launch his league campaign.
The 28-year-old got minutes under his belt in a friendly against Triestina last weekend, appearing for the last 20 minutes of a 1-0 win.
It was his first appearance since April following an ongoing hamstring problem, but after a summer of rehabilitation, Bianconeri boss Maurizio Sarri has decided to give Ramsey more time.
