DONE DEAL: Karela’s William Opoku Mensah joins American club Swope Park Rangers

The deadly goal poacher has officially joined the affiliate club of Major League Soccer side Sporting Kansas City.

Karela United striker William Opoku Mensah has completed his switch to second-tier side Swope Park Rangers in the ongoing transfer window.

The 23-year-old has joined the United Soccer League outfit on a season-long deal with an option of renewal after undergoing a mandatory medical test on Monday.

He arrived in America last week to continue his football career after an impressive debut season in the Ghana Premier League.

The former Eleven Wise FC attacker will earn a promotion to the senior team of the Sporting Club Group, Sporting Kansas City if he impress at the reserve side Swope Park Rangers.

He will be wearing jersey number 79 at the Children’s Mercy Park outfit.

Earlier, the 23-year-old was linked with a move to Ghana Premier League heavyweights Asante Kotoko.

Mensah scored six (6) goals in his 14 appearances for Karela United during the 2018 Ghana Premier League season which ended abruptly.
