Health Minister Kwaku Agyemang-Manu

The Ministry of Health has said Ghana has recorded nine suspected cases of the coronavirus including the recent two from Korle Bu Teaching Hospital but all of the cases have tested negative.

As at today, Thursday, 6 February 2020, there have been 28,280 confirmed cases and 565 deaths globally.

But Ghana’s health ministry has in a statement assured that the Ghana Health Service is working in collaboration with partners and doing everything possible to prevent and protect against the importation of the virus into the country and prevent spread.

Coronaviruses are spread through air droplets expelled when an infected individual coughs or sneezes within a range of about 3 feet.

Health professionals across the world are working around the clock to find a cure for the disease.

The Greater Accra Regional and the Tema General Hospitals have been designated by the Ghanaian authorities as coronavirus management and treatment centres.
