Striking members of the  Mortuary Workers Association of Ghana (MOWAG) who are in a turf war with the Health Ministry over their conditions of service, are threatening of taking their anger to another level if by the close of the week nothing positive is heard, MyNewsGh.comreports.

They have threatened this time, to embark on a massive demonstration against government and Health Ministry in a grand scale following low salaries and poor working conditions as another way to pressure the government heed to their concerns.
The association on Tuesday, embarked on strike to demand for better conditions of service from government and its allied agencies.
Scores of bereaved families were left stranded at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) morgue and other public mortuary facilities across the country following the strike action of the association.

General Secretary of mortuary workers Union Richard Kofi Jordan in an exclusive interview with MyNewsGh.com said the next action of the association will be massive including the dumping of dead bodies at the seat of government which houses the president and called on government to brace itself for the unthinkable.
According Richard Kofi Jordan, the association will continue to deny bereaved families the access to their relations in the morgue until they resume from their strike action.

“Strike is strike. We are not receiving dead bodies and we will not give out dead bodies in the morgue. We are on indefinite strike because government and Health Ministry taking us for granted. We will very soon storm Jubilee House and Health Ministry with massive demonstration. Our demonstration will be extra ordinary because we will leave the dead bodies there for them to take care of” he said.

Richard Kofi Jordan charged bereaved families and Ghanaians who will have funeral coming Saturday to postpone since they will not get their bodies to bury.
