Asante Kotoko recorded their second victory in the ongoing GFA Normalization Committee Special Cup on Sunday,7 April 2019.
The ‘Porcupine’ lads inflicted a 3-0 heavy defeat on Techiman Eleven Wonders FC in the match-day three at the Nkoranza Children’s Park.
The Porcupine Warriors dominated the first half as they managed to score two goals before the break.
On the 23rd minute, Abdul Fatau Shafiu opened the floodgate with a brilliant finish as he struck the ball pass the Eleven Wonders goalkeeper.
The visitors continued to pile pressure on Coach Enos Adepah’s side to grab the second goal on the stroke of halftime.
Captain Amos Frimpong doubled the lead for the Reds with a beautiful header to end the first half in a 2-0 lead for his side.
Back from the break, Coach Akonnor’s charges continued with their sterling performance to outplay the homeseters.
Defender Evans Owusu extended the lead to 3-0 with an audacious strike on the 55th minute of the game.
The Kumasi-based club could have bagged more goals but most of their shots were blocked by the defense of Eleven Wonders.
Asante Kotoko will host their regional rivals Obuasi Ashanti Gold SC in the match-day four of the competition.
