BREAKING: Christian Atsu ruled of the Africa Cup of Nations

Ghana will continue their 2019 Africa Cup of Nations campaign with the Newcastle United star due to injury.

Winger Christian Atsu has been ruled out of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations because of a hamstring injury, Kickgh.com can confirm.

The 27-year-old’s Cup of Nations journey has ended after undergoing a medical test in Ismailia earlier today.

He sustained a hamstring injury in Ghana’s second Group F game against Cameroon last Saturday.

The former Chelsea winger lasted for only fifteen minutes of the game as he was replaced by Samuel Owusu.

He is expected to leave the team’s camping base to England for a surgery

Atsu has capped 60 times for the Black Stars of Ghana with ten goals to his credit
