Christian Service SRC Launches “Boa Wonua Scholarship Fund” to Assist Students

The Students Representative Council SRC of the Christian Service University College has launched a policy called “Boa Wonua Scholarship Fund” aimed at giving a helping hand to students with financial difficulties.

Richard Owusu, the External Affairs President of the SRC explained that the motive behind this policy is to assist good but needy students who sometimes drop out of school due to financial constraint, adding that it is quite worrying when such things happen.

 

The External Affairs President continued that it has always been his vision to have such a policy even before contesting for the position. Stressing that although the scheme is meant for the students, the SRC will outline procedures which one needs to qualify before getting the assistant.

He said, the scholarship is to assist good but needy students complete their education.

He further indicated that these monies are not loans and will not be refunded by beneficiaries.

He therefore urged colleague students especially those with financial difficulties to study hard in order to benefit from the aforementioned scheme.

 

The Member of Parliament for Nhyiaeso Constituency, Hon. Stephen Amoah who graced the occasion on the other hand commended the SRC of the school for the good initiative which is aimed at helping their fellow colleagues.

However,the Deputy Minister urged the leadership in charge to do a diligent work to pave way for others to support the policy.

He further advised them to be transparent in distributing the money and also ensure equity.

Speaking to OTEC news, Sarkodie Samuel on February 16,2024,the MP advised the leadership to desist from politicizing this good initiative which other universities can emulate.

Hon. Stephen Amoah emphasized the need for those who will be privileged to get access to the scholarship to take their studies serious.
