The NDC is also pushing for the immediate interdiction of the municipal police commander, DSP Philip Oduro Hammond and the military commander

The opposition National Democratic Congress(

NDC) has called on the president to remove the acting Municipal Chief Executive for Ejura-Sekyedumse, Salisu Bamba.

The party is also pushing for the immediate interdiction of the Municipal Commander DSP Philip Oduro Hammond and the Military Commander for leading the deployment.

The call comes on the back of the killing of two people after protesters clashed with security personnel on Tuesday.

Addressing the media after visiting families of the deceased persons in Ejura, Sammy Gyamfi, communications officer of the NDC, described the incident as “state-sponsored.”

“… MCE cannot continue to be in office and it is important that with immediate effect, he is dismissed, arrested and prosecuted. Aside that, the police commander for Ejura, the military commander who was responsible for the mindless deployment that caused the death of Nasiru and Mohammed Murtala must be immediately interdicted, prosecuted and punished in accordance with law,” Gyamfi added.
