Let’s be each others keeper – Hon. Muntaka tells colleagues

The member of parliament for the Asawase Constituency of the Ashanti Region,Hon. Muntaka Mubarak Mohammed has urged his colleague honourable members to ensure they be each others keeper.

Speaking at the floor of parliament today, March 7,2024,Hon. Muntaka indicated that it is necessary to create a bond among themselves as members of parliament.

According to him,the members are not creating friendship neither are they creating a family, adding that “we pretend that we are colleagues”.

“There is democracy because there is parliament,the day that there is no parliament,there will be no democracy”,he said.

“We don’t want to come together and build a political class,we are excessively partisan to the extent that people don’t even want to see you with other person on the other side chatting,they give you name and we all become scared that we now afraid to even relate to each other”,he added.

“I’m happy to say I have never hidden that NAPO is my best friend and everybody knows that we are childhood friends and I will proudly say that anywhere regardless of what any other person will say”,the honourable member stated.

Hon. Muntaka Mubarak Mohammed continued to state that it is about time members of parliament stop the partisan politics and put aside their differences and build a political class in the house, adding that beyond the house, nobody thinks about them as parliamentarians, that they shouldn’t think they are important “let me tell you that you are not important at all not even to your constituents”.
