Minister of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation, Professor Kwabena Frimpong Boateng has been dragged to the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) for abusing his office.

One Arnold Agbodo petitioned the Commission alleging that Prof. Frimpong Boateng was arbitrarily taking over mining concessions from their licensed owners.
According to the Crusading Guide Newspaper, Agbodo argued that the minister was depriving the state of revenue because of the non-payment of fees due the state.
He went further to say Prof. Frimpong Boateng was costing the state $250,000 in mineral rights fees because he failed to relinquish three concessions.
In his petition, he also said there was a clear conflict of interest in violation of Art. 284 of the 1992 constitution.

“Every mining company is required to be licensed by the EPA. The EPA is an agency under the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, and Prof, Frimpong Boateng is the Minister in charge f this Ministry. Consequently, he will ultimately be issuing an environmental permit for mineral exploration to his own company, symphony limited.”
Agbodo maintains that “the whole scenario appears clearly orchestrated in a manner quite similar to a musical symphony… it gives every appearance of premeditation in his choice of the portfolio.”
He further alleged that the Prof. Frimpong Boateng of steering the anti-illegal mining taskforces away from his mining concessions.
He has asked CHRAJ to ascertain from the Auditor General whether the minister declared his interest in Symphony Limited when he declared his assets.
