Kumawu by-election; NPP buying votes with money, clothes and rice – Kumawu

Some youth in the Kumawu constituency have alleged that the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) is bribing voters in the area in their quest to maintain the Kumawu seat.

Speaking to Otec fm’s Prince Nii Ade (Dr. Cash), leader of the group, Nana Poku alleged that some well known faces within the NPP were seen sharing monies and clothes to people for votes.

According to him, the NPP has seen that they have failed the people of Kumawu hence a change of strategy to buy vote. Nana Poku however revealed that they have evoked a curse on the elections hence anyone who votes based on bribe given to him or her will face the wrath of the gods.Meanwhile, the Ashanti Regional NPP communications Director Dennis Kwakwa denied the allegation describing it as hoax and baseless.

According to him, people of Kumawu are discerning hence cannot be taken for granted.

According to Mr. Kwakwa, the NPP government has done much for the people of Kumawu of which he believes they would not disappoint them.
