Rafiq Salam report [4; 34 PM] From the Upper West Region: A police officer, providing security for the Bole area, lost control of his rifle which went off shooting indiscriminately, fortunately, nobody was hurt and did not disrupt the voting process.
Greater Accra [4; 26 pm] Sylvester Mensah is at Krowor. He said there has been a breakdown of morality on the part of NDC leadership. He added the NDC leadership is working to skew victory in favour of former President John Mahama. According to him, his aids are collating the infractions and his side will decide what to do at the end of the election. But he says he is still confident of victory.
Greater Accra [4 pm]: The Greater Accra Regional Secretary of the NDC, Theophilous Tetter Chai has lauded his party for what seems like seamless presidential primaries.
According to him “the decision we took at the National Executive Committee was a very wise one.” According to him, the said decision which included the exclusion of party militia from providing security and allowing the national electoral commission to conduct the election is already yielding fruit for which other political parties must emulate.
In his words “This is one of the most peaceful elections which have been conducted. We took a decision as a political party and we said we will not allow any party militia and it has paid off. NDC has shown the way on how to conduct ourselves as a political party,” he told JoyNews.
