The family of Ghana’s late ex-Vice-President Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur has instituted a PhD Award scheme, fully funded by the family in perpetuity at the Economics Department of the University of Ghana.

The family has also commenced an annual K.B. Amissah-Arthur Economic Forum in his memory.

The first forum was held on Friday, 28 June 2019 at the Economics Department of the University of Ghana.

Mr Amissah-Arthur was a senior lecturer at the Economics Department of the University of Ghana before becoming Vice-President under the John Mahama administration from 2012 to 2016.

He died on 29 June 2018 while on a morning workout at a Burma Camp gym in Accra.
