RAWLINGS VOTES AS ZANETOR WINS

Former President Jerry John Rawlings was at the Arts Centre, Accra on Saturday morning to cast his vote as a delegate of the Klottey Korle constituency National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary primaries.

The former President arrived at the premises at approximately 8.40am and immediately went ahead to cast his ballot after which he briefly answered questions from prying media before leaving the premises.

Flt Lt Rawlings’ presence enlivened the hitherto quiet and orderly process and for the ten minutes or so that he was there, admirers and supporters cheered on every action of his.

Though he did not make his vote known, his daughter and incumbent Member of Parliament, Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings overwhelmingly won the vote running away with 671 votes against 336 and 260 for his opponents, Mohammed Bashiru Nii Narh Alema and Leeford Quarshie, respectively.
