The Deputy Minister for Deputy Minister for Regional Reorganisation and Development, Hon. Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah averted what would have been a bloodbath as some supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) nearly pounced on a policeman at the home of the Techiman South Constituency Chairman over gross disrespect.
According to Alhaji Musa Asante, the said cop mustered courage and handcuffed the Chairman of the Municipal Security Committee (MUSEC) Hon John Donyina in his presence in heat of an argument over the ongoing voter registration exercise.
The NPP executive alleged that the Parliamentary Candidate for the National Democratic Congress(NDC), Christopher Bayere together with some personnel of the Ghana Police Service ransacked his house because they suspected that he was registering people there.
Baffled by the move, he sought to question the rationale behind their action, demanding to see a court warrant but an infuriated policeman who was said to have led the team refused and nearly engaged in fisticuffs with anyone who tried questioning his authority.
In the heat of the moment, the MCE who stormed the home of the Constituency Chairman was not spared the wrath of the incensed policeman who handcuffed him only to be told that was the head of the security in the area he had manhandled.
A statement from the office of the Chairman said ” Police Officers came to my house yesterday, 3rd July 2020 in the evening, around 4:20 in the company of the NDC Parliamentary Candidate for Techiman South, on a false allegation that, I was registering people in my house. I allowed them to look inside the house if there were any registration equipments in the house, and lo and behold, their expectations were not met since they were fed with false information”.
The statement further said ” The NDC Candidate raised a false alarm which has one destination, which is to tarnish the high standing reputation I have built in the society over the years for political expediency. The NDC candidate has made it a habit of raising unnecessary alarms and making unfounded allegations just to create fear and panic in Techiman south constituency, for whatever reasons, best known to him”.
The statement noted that the same allegations were made against the Municipal Chief Executive of the Municipality who a Policeman attempted to handcuff but was resisted.
“This same allegation was earlier levelled against Hon. Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah, the NPP parliamentary candidate for Techiman south but after police investigations, it turned out to be false.
It will interest you to know, ladies and gentlemen, that, the Municipal Chief Executive, who is the head of security in the municipality also had his share of a humiliating molestation from one of the security personnel, to the extent of attempting to handcuff the MCE but was resisted by the crowd when the MCE had heard the news and quickly came into my house to intervene for peace to prevail but I leave that one in the hands of the security heads to handle.”

PRESS CONFERENCE BY CHAIRMAN MUSAH ASANTE ON HOW CHRISTOPHER BAYERE , PC FOR TECHIMAN SOUTH NDC MISLED SECURITY PERSONEL TO RANSACK MY HOUSE
4TH JULY 2020
Good morning Ladies and gentlemen of the press, I am more than thankful that you honoured my invitation, even though I informed you on a very short notice.
From last night up to this morning, all that I have been doing is to answer a full load of phone calls coming from family members, NPP party members, and loved ones seeking clarity and explanation as to why my house was ransacked by security personnel, hence the imperative need to organize this press conference this morning to explain and expose the ill-motive of the Techima south NDC parliamentary candidate, Christopher Bayere towards me and the on-going voters registration excercise.
Ladies and gentlemen of the press, Police Officers came to my house yesterday, 3rd July 2020 in the evening, around 4:20 in the company of the NDC Parliamentary Candidate for Techiman South, on a false allegation that, I was registering people in my house. I allowed them to look inside the house if there were any registration equipments in the house, and lo and behold, their expectations were not met since they were fed with false information.
The NDC Candidate raised a false alarm which has one destination, which is to tarnish the high standing reputation I have built in society over the years for political expediency.
The NDC candidate has made it a habit of raising unnecessary alarms and making unfounded allegations just to create fear and panic in Techiman soth constituency, for whatever reasons, best known to him
Ladies and gentlemen of the press, as you all can attest to, Chairman Musa is peace- loving patron of the NPP and a law abiding citizen but any attempt by the NDC candidate to use me for his failing political fortune will not be tolerated.
This same allegation was earlier leveled against Hon. Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah, the NPP parliamentary candidate for Techiman south but after police investigations, it turned out to be false.
It will interest you to know, ladies and gentlemen, that, the Municipal Chief Executive, who is the head of security in the municipality also had his share of a humiliating molestation from one of the security personnel, to the extent of attempting to handcuff the MCE but was resisted by the crowd when the MCE had heard the news and quickly came into my house to intervene for peace to prevail but I leave that one in the hands of the security heads to handle.
Ladies and gentlemen, it appears the NDC and their candidate, Christopher Bayere have not taking time to read the laws governing the registration exercise. It is not illegal to print both the registration form and the guarantor form from the EC website, fill and take it to the registration centre to be registered.
Christopher Bayere and his people must get this simple education from the EC and stop this needless tension the sought to create.
Ladies and gentlemen , the Npp Techiman South for now, is satisfied with the process and call on all Ghanaians who are 18 and above to come out in their numbers to register.
Thank you very much for coming.
