Social media sensation, Afua Asantewaa Aduonum has responded to the announcement by the Guinness World Records (GWR) regarding her singing marathon attempt.
This comes after GWR on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, expressed regret over Afua Asantewaa’s inability to break the record for the longest sing-a-thon by an individual.
However, they conveyed hope that she would “make another attempt soon”, acknowledging that her effort was “inspirational for her fans’.
In their statement on Friday, February 2024, GWR explained that the evidence check had already commenced before Afua requested priority service.
As a result, her payment was refunded earlier in the month and extended best wishes to Afua for any future record attempts.

In response to the statement, the Ghanaian media personality underscored that she received the news of the outcome of her sing-a-thon attempt just moments before hosting a gala dinner and the launch of the Lebanese Scholarship Alumni Network, attended by President Nana Akufo-Addo.
She stated, “I would announce my next line of action in a few days. Thank you all for your love and support.”
Afua Asantewaa commenced her record attempt for the GWR longest singing marathon by an individual in December 2023 to break the current record of 105 hours.
After an impressive five days of continuous singing, she concluded her sing-a-thon attempt, lasting an impressive 126 hours and 52 minutes.

She was also announced as a Tourism Ambassador by the Ghana Tourism Authority days later.
