Authorities at the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) have denied news making rounds that a student has died on campus after visiting his girlfriend.

According to the university, checks with the police also point to no such incident.

The statement is in reaction to some posts on social media that a student of the university had been found dead in the room of his girlfriend after spending the night with her.

Authorities said the last record of death concerning a student was a fortnight ago when the body of a male student was washed ashore at the Winneba beach.
