Gov’t Declares Friday As A Public Holiday

The Minister for the Interior, Ambrose Dery has declared Friday, December 1 as a public holiday.

The day has been set aside to mark the Farmers Day occasion.

“The general public is hereby informed that Friday, 1st December, 2023 which marks Farmers’ Day, is a Statutory Public Holiday and should be observed as such throughout the count,” the Minister said in a statement.

The National Farmers’ Day is an annual celebration of farmers and fishermen, observed on the first Friday of December.

On Farmers’ Day, the Ministry of Food and Agriculture honors with special awards to deserving farmers and fishermen based on their practices and output
