Viral Video: Amasaman residents beat SWAT Unit Police officer mercilessly

A police officer with the SWAT team in Accra has been beaten to a pulp by the angry residents of Amasaman. The police officer has now been identified as Sgt Mahanadi.
In the videos which are going viral on social media, the youth of the town together with even the older people who are supposed to know better are seen beating the hell out of the police officer.

It is not clear what led to the assault but Ghpage.com is reliably informed the Ghana Poice service has received copies of the videos and has since launched investigations to unravel what caused it. We will keep you updated.

Assault on police officers has been rampant in Ghana in recent times. Just a few weeks ago, a trotro driver and his mate beat a police officer in Accra after he allegedly tried to arrest them when they committed traffic offenses.

The police have equally taken the laws into their hands have been beating people who break the law without justification. Some are even shot dead just for provocating them. Ghana it appears heading towards a lawless country.
