Amos Darko victim of the attack

A suspected car thief who smashed the face of his victim with a beer bottle leaving him with multiple injuries has been arrested at Asuofua in the Atwima Nwabiagya North District of the Ashanti Region by Asuofua Police Command.

The suspect who failed to snatch a KIA Picanto in the process from a driver has been identified as Dominic, 26-years-old.
According to the victim, Amos Darko, he sustained various degrees of injuries after he struggled with the suspect and succeeded in overpowering him.

Narrating the incident to Pure Fm’s Osei Kwadwo he said “On Friday evening around 6pm, the suspect came to solicit my services when I was on scale loading so I didn’t go with him”.
He said the suspect came back later and asked to be dropped at Achiase around 7pm which he obliged and decided to embark on the trip.

While on the way, the suspect hit him with a beer bottle in order to render him unconscious to take possession of the vehicle but they started struggling.
“I struggled with him after he hit me with the bottle. I was bleeding profusely but I didn’t allow him to overpower me. I used the half piece of the bottle to defend myself. He ran away when I started calling for help” he said.
Luck however eluded the suspect who went to an information centre in the area on Monday April 15, 2019 to solicit for funds to go to his hometown and was identified by the victim who happened to be around the same area.

He (suspect) told the owner of the information center that he was knocked down by a motorbike but his account was inconsistent with his actions before being identified
