Police in Tarkwa in the Western Region have arrested a supposed kidnapper of Augustina Ndaago, a first-year Home Economics student of the Tarkwa Senior High School (SHS) who went missing on January 23, 2019.

The suspect who turned out to be the boyfriend of the girl, is being interrogated by the police according to the Director General of Police Criminal Investigation Department (CID) DCOP Maame Tiwaah Addo-Danquah.

According to the account of the police, Augustina Ndaago took an exeat from authorities of the school under the guise of going to visit her parents at Prestea but ended up spending days with her boyfriend and whereabouts unknown to both the parents and school authorities.

Investigations later led police to the home of boyfriend where the supposed kidnapper and her victim were found after relations claimed they received a text message about the Augustina’s kidnap.

Authorities of the school claimed “, Augustina’s brother called the housemistress to inform her that a “supposed” kidnapper had sent him a text message that Augustina together with two others had been kidnapped and were in their custody.”

Meanwhile, the Director General of CID who visited the area at the weekend, revealed the matter is being investigated alongside other kidnaps in the area.
