An eight-year-old school girl only identified as Shamsiya has been reportedly missing at Tafo Adonpom in the Tafo Municipality of the Ashanti region after hours of heavy rainfall that hit some parts of the region.
The two-hour rainfall flooded areas including; Ohwim, Amanfrom, Anloga junction, Krofrom, Subin, Airport Roundabout, Tafo, Atafoa and other communities.
Hundreds of residents have been displaced after the rain and buildings close to waterways collapsed.
Assemblyman for Tafo-Nhyiaso Electoral ares, Bashiru Mohammed who was narrating the incident to Pure Fm’s Osei Kwadwo, said they suspect the 8-year-old girl may have been washed away by the flooding water.
According to him, the family of the girl told him the girl was playing in the heavy rain and but when it got heavy they were unable to trace her whereabouts.
He said efforts to find the eight year old girl by the residents proved futile.
According to him, the District Chief Executive for Tafo Municipality and heads of the assembly will visit the victim’s family today Tuesday, May 21, 2019.
