The Bole Magistrate Court presided over by Prince Cudjoe has remanded 33-year-old Latifah Bumaye the lady at the centre of the lynching of 90-year-old woman, Akua Denteh into prison custody to reappear on August 28, 2020
She has been provisionally charged with murder and her plea was not taken when she appeared before court on Monday August 3, 2020.
The self-styled spiritualist was arrested in Kejewu Bator a fishing community in Abrumase within the East Gonja district of the Savanah region while trying to flee the to the south of the country through Yeji after days of hiding.
Upon her arrest, Latifa told the Police that she was possessed by an evil spirit and never knew she was beating an old lady.
She said she only realized what she had done when it was telecasted on TV3 news; something which came as a shock to her.
It would be recalled that in a viral video which was been circulated on social media, a 90-year-old woman was been subjected to severe beating by some women because according to reports, she was declared a witch by a self-styled priestess.
The 90-year-old woman called Akua Denteh is reported to have died after the torture she was taken through at the hands of the women.
Five suspects were earlier arrested by the Police in the Savannah Region and have since been charged
